Braves right-hander Matt Wisler is set to start on Tuesday against the Marlins after he missed his last turn in the rotation because of pain on the left side of his abdomen.

Wisler got the OK after he threw 35 pitches on the side Friday and 25 pitches on Sunday. He felt pain during and after his last start, on Aug. 31 against the Padres.

“Just keep an eye on him tomorrow,” Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said Monday. “I don’t think we need to put a whole lot of pitch limitations or anything. It’s just kind of how he’s doing, stressful innings and things like that will probably determine how long he goes.”

Wisler, who turned 24 on Monday, is looking to finish the season strong after his struggles got him demoted to Triple-A Gwinnett on July 29.

In two starts since rejoining the Braves Wisler has a 1.29 ERA with 14 strikeouts and six walks over 14 innings. For the season Wisler has a 4.76 ERA with 105 strikeouts and 42 walks over 136 innings.

Wisler said he was diagnosed with a “mild strain” following the start against the Padres.

“I’m ready to go,” he said. “Missing one start is not that big of a deal.”
