The Atlanta Braves will play their first spring at CoolToday Park, located in North Port, Fla., a city of 65,000 residents about 30 miles south of Sarasota. Single-game tickets range from $10 to $45 for seats listed as available on the team’s website.
The Braves left their home of 22 years in central Florida in large part to be closer to other teams’ spring training camps, reducing what had become long bus rides to Grapefruit League road games from Champion Stadium in Lake Buena Vista.
The new $125 million stadium is within an hour’s drive of five other teams’ spring training camps. The stadium is one mile off U.S. 41 and about five miles from I-75, coincidentally the same highways that run past Truist Park some 570 miles away.
Atlanta will play 16 of its 33-game exhibition slate away from CoolToday. The team’s shortest trip is a cool 12 miles away, while the farthest hauls are 3 hours away to Jupiter and West Palm.
