Jonny Venters remains on schedule to begin throwing bullpen sessions next week.

The left-handed reliever threw from 120 feet before Saturday’s game with the Padres and said he felt no discomfort. The session came after the pitcher threw from 100 feet Friday.

It has been 14 months since Venters underwent a second Tommy John elbow surgery and a month since a platelet-rich plasma injection following a setback. Venters battled elbow soreness during his recovery, the reason for the PRP injection.

“I feel a lot better than I felt before,” Venters said. “I think it’s a combination of the injection and the time off. You get time for everything to calm down in there and get back to normal. It feels really good.”

Venters said he expects the first bullpen session to be early in the Braves upcoming road trip, which begins in Los Angeles Tuesday.
