Minnesota Twins star Joe Mauer is making the transition to first base after years behind the plate.

In what can only be classified as bad humor, former Twins first baseman Kent Hrbek recreated a controversial play from the 1991 World Series against the Atlanta Braves to teach Mauer the nuances of the position as a seasonal TV promotion.

(Warning Braves fans, this one may reopen an old wound.)

For those in need of a history lesson.

In the third inning of Game 2 of the 1991 Series with two outs and a runner at first, Braves outfielder Ron Gant singles to left. Twins left fielder Don Gladden makes an errant throw to third in an attempt to get the lead runner, Lonnie Smith. Twins pitcher Kevin Tapani fields the ball in the infield and throws to first where Hrbek pulls Gant off the bag by a leg and tags him to end the inning.

The Twins won the game and cheated the Braves out of the Series.
