The last time Braves fans saw Tim Hudson in an Atlanta uniform he was writhing in pain on the infield of CitiField in New York after having his ankle broken by the Mets' Eric Young.

In the years since he left Atlanta after the 2013 season, Hudson won a World Series with the San Francisco Giants in 2014 and settled back in his native Alabama.

It his here where his story picks up. Alabama station WTVM recently conducted a three-part interview with the former Braves pitcher about his baseball journey from high school to his year in retirement. He recently joined the Fox Sports broadcast booth as an analyst during Braves games.

Some highlights include:

• He was gleeful when he found he was being traded from Oakland to Atlanta to play under Braves manager Bobby Cox.

• Hudson remains a fan of his childhood team, teh Braves.

• He thought his career was over when he was injured in New York.

• He gives kudos to his wife and other moms who spend time shepherding kids around.

• Hudson has been helping his coach his son's baseball teams.
