The 1997 Braves opened the season with a lot of fanfare.

The team opened Turner Field, the reinvented Olympic Stadium, in downtown Atlanta and expectations remained high one season removed from winning their first World Series in Atlanta.

A starting rotation of Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux and John Smoltz was backed up by an offense led by Chipper Jones, Jeff Blauser and Fred McGriff.

The Braves are playing their final season at Turner Field before moving to SunTrust Park in Cobb County. Let's look back at the first team to play at Ted.
