1. On September 12, 1992, David Justice hit two home runs to lead the Braves to a 9-3 road win over the Astros. Braves pitcher Matt Wisler was born that day.

2. Were there 232 better players? Wisler was the 233rd player taken in the 2011 baseball draft. He was picked by the Padres in the seventh round.

3. In his last season of high school baseball, Wisler had a 0.17 ERA.

4. Wisler sought out Braves great Tom Glavine for some pointers during the offseason.

5. He is from Bryan, Ohio but of Dutch descent. He told MLB.com that "My grandfather was a supply guy outside one of the caves in the Netherlands during World War II, when we helped free them from German control."
