The Atlanta Braves start a 10-day road swing Friday in Kansas City where the two teams will play tribute to the Negro Leagues.

The Braves haven't played at the Royals' Kauffman Stadium (which turned 43 in April) since 2013 and are 4-6 against Kansas City since interleague play began in 1997.

The teams will each pay homage to their city's baseball past with throwback uniforms in Sunday's Salute to the Negro Leagues (2:10 p.m., FSSO). Kansas City will sport  Kansas City Monarchs uniforms. Atlanta will wear Atlanta Black Crackers uniforms.

The Royals posted an image of the unis on their Instagram account:

The Black Crackers reportedly took their name from the minor league Atlanta Crackers, with whom they shared Ponce de Leon Park. The semi-pro team began playing in the city in 1919 and  joined the Negro American League in 1938, where they briefly played the Monarchs -the longest-running franchise in the history of baseball's Negro Leagues.
