Down 4-2 the visiting Braves scored four in the seventh. Alden Carrithers had a lead off triple and scored on Sean Kazmar’s single. Tyler Pastornicky followed with a one out single. He and Kazmar scored on Ernesto Mejia’s sixth home run of the season. The Tides gained the winning margin in the eighth on two singles, two walks, a call of catcher’s interference, a wild pitch and a run scoring sacrifice fly. Braves relieve Dusty Hughes took the loss giving up three runs, one unearned, in the eighth on two hits, two walks and a strikeout, his only out of the inning.

How the winning run scored: Russ Canzler led off the home sixth with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly.

At the plate: The Braves Matt Pagnozzi who got on with a walk in the second and scored on a bases loaded walk to Sean Kazmar after the Braves avoided the third out on a missed catch on a force at second. The Braves had three hits, two by Tyler Pastornicky, neither in the second. Alden Carrithers two-out single in the second moved Pagnozzi to second base.

On the mound: Braves starter Yohan Flande and David Carpenter gave up a combined four hit, three by Flande in 4 1/3, who gave up one run with three walks and four strikeouts. Carpenter (1-2) got the loss giving up one run on one hit with one strikeout and no walks.

Up next for Gwinnett: After a two game series at Norfolk, the two teams come to Gwinnett for four, beginning at 6:05 tonight.
