What's new: Without Freddie Freeman in the lineup over the previous seven games entering this series, the Braves averaged just 1.86 runs per game. In the 16 games before Freeman sustained the wrist injury, the Braves were averaging 5.06 runs per game. As a team the Braves had gone 3-4 in Freeman's absence. Nick Markakis has been a rare bright spot over that span, hitting .296 (8-for-27) including back-to-back three-hit games against the Nationals. He lost his errorless streak at 398 games, which was a record for outfielders. Cameron Maybin was hitting .337 (30-for-89) in the month of June entering the series, with 10 multi-hit games.
