Former Braves outfielder Jordan Schafer continues to impress in his bid to return to the majors as a relief pitcher.

Schafer made two more scoreless appearances of relief, bringing him to six this season for the Double-A Tulsa Drillers, a Dodgers affiliate.

He has pitched nine innings and allowed no runs on six hits. He has walked only one batter and has struck out 10.

Opponents are hitting .188 against him, and he has a 0.78 WHIP.

The 29-year-old lefty picked up his first hold of the season Monday in the Drillers’ 4-3 win against Arkansas, striking out two in a scoreless eighth inning.

He still doesn’t have a save, but nine consecutive scoreless to start his professional pitching career marks quite a start to is pitching transition. Throw in the 10 strikeouts, and that’s quite splash.
