A look at the notable trades and acquisitions made by the Atlanta Braves following the 2015 season.

The Braves signed utility player Kelly Johnson to a one-year, $2 million deal in January, marking his third stint with the organization that drafted him in the first round of the 2000 draft.

The Braves placed outfielder Joey Terdoslavich on waivers to open a roster spot for newly signed utility player Kelly Johnson in January. Terdoslavich, who made his debut with the Braves in 2013, was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles.

The Braves signed veteran right-hander Kyle Kendrick in December to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training.

The Braves added catcher, and Georgia-native, Tyler Flowers in December on a two-year, $5.3 million deal. Flowers was drafted by Atlanta in 2005. He was traded to the White Sox in 2008 and made his major league debut with Chicago in 2009.

In early December, the Braves traded Shelby Miller, an All-Star right-hander, to the Diamondbacks in exchange for potential star outfielder Ender Inciarte, right-handed prospect Aaron Blair and top shortstop prospect Dansby Swanson, who played at Marietta High School and was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2015 June draft out of Vanderbilt.

The Braves traded former elite prospect Christian Bethancourt, a catcher, to the San Diego Padres in early December in exchange for right-hander Casey Kelly and 17-year-old catching prospect Ricardo Rodriguez.

The Braves acquired right-handed reliever Jose Ramirez from Seattle on Dec. 4 in exchange for Braves pticher Ryne Harper, who spent the bulk of his time in Double-A.

The Braves added veteran infielder Gordon Beckham Dec. 2, 2015, on a one-year, $1.25 million deal. Beckham, a former standout at the University of Georgia, plays third base and shortstop.

Braves pitcher Mike Minor became a non-tendered free agent in early December after the team declined to offer the left-hander a contract. Minor, who the Braves picked 7th overall in the 2009 draft, missed the 2015 season recovering from shoulder surgery.

The Braves re-signed reliever Jim Johnson to a one-year, $2.5 million contract four months after trading him to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Braves signed veteran right-handed starter Bud Norris to a one-year, $2.5 million contract. Norris went 3-11 with a 6.72 ERA in 38 games (11 starts) for Baltimore and San Diego.

The Braves sent center fielder Cameron Maybin to the Tigers in late November in exchange for left-handed pitchers Ian Krol and Gabe Speier. The Braves shed about $7.5 million from their 2016 payroll with the deal.

The Braves traded defensive shortstop Andrelton Simmons, along with minor league catcher Joe Briceno, in early November to the Angels for a package of players including veteran shorststop/second baseman Erick Aybar and Anaheim’s top two pitching prospects, left-hander Sean Newcomb, 22, and Chris Ellis, 23.

Braves started the offseason re-signing catcher A.J. Pieryznski to a one-year, $3 million contract. Pierzynski, who turned 39 in December, enters his 19th major league season needing just 11 hits to reach 2,000.
