Braves catcher Brian McCann tries out his new sports glasses in rehab assignment in Triple-A Gwinnett. The Gwinnett Braves faced the Syracuse Chiefs Thursday in Lawrenceville.

Brian McCann, who grew up in Gwinnett and still lives there, signs autographs for Gwinnett fans as he takes the field.

Brian McCann, who's been on the disabled list -- retroactive to April 22 -- with blurred vision, adjusts to wearing new sports glasses under his facemask.

Brian McCann went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk in Gwinnett. McCann expects to come off the DL Friday and rejoin the Braves for a series against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Brian McCann catches without his new glasses, starting the third inning. He switched to a hockey goalie-type facemask that would allow him to wear glasses while he catches.

Catching without his new glasses, Brian McCann fields a foul tip by Kory Castro and throws him out at first. After wearing the glasses to catch the first two innings, McCann removed them. He continued to catch without the glasses, but put them back on for his at bats. He put them back on to catch the final inning.
