Braves ace Mike Foltynewicz pitched five no-hit innings in his rehab start Thursday.

Foltynewicz, on the injured list with elbow soreness, started Triple-A Gwinnett’s opener. He threw 56 pitches (34 strikes), striking out two and walking two.

The right-hander’s velocity sat 92-96 mph, averaging out at 93. He had made only one start in spring training.

Foltynewicz will require at least one more rehab start before rejoining the Braves’ rotation. The team said it would re-evaluate him after his second rehab outing.
