Luiz Gohara exited his start at Triple-A after just 2-2/3 innings Monday.

Gohara was not injured, according to a person familiar with the situation, and will make his next scheduled start.

Gohara, who was optioned to Triple-A on June 17, was making his second start with Gwinnett since the team sent him down. He left after 42 pitches.

He’d made only three appearances for the Braves in June, struggling in mop-up duty. It was better for Gohara and the team if he was starting in Triple-A rather than the major-league bullpen, the Braves decided.

The 21-year-old left-hander pitched 3-1/3 innings, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out seven, in his last minor-league start June 20.

After missing spring training due to injuries, Gohara got a late start on the season. He didn’t pitch in the majors until May 10, and has made just seven appearances (one start) with the big-league club.

Some considered Gohara the organization’s No. 1 pitching prospect entering the season. He arrived at spring training a heavy favorite for a backend rotation spot, but groin and ankle injuries derailed his bid.
