Kris Medlen got his first win and Ozzie Albies had three hits in four at-bats as the Gwinnett Braves beat the Norfolk Tides 10-3 Wednesday night in Lawrenceville.

Medlen (1-2) pitched six innings, allowing two earned runs and eight hits while walking none and striking out five.

Rio Ruiz went 3-for-5 with a home run and a season-high five RBIs for the G-Braves (43-41).

Mauricio Cabrera pitched a scoreless ninth for Gwinnett.

Jace Peterson extended his on-base streak to 19 games. He’s reached in every game he’s played for Gwinnett this season.

Former Atlanta Braves third baseman Chris Johnson had two hits for Norfolk.
