On Friday night during the Braves-Mets game at SunTrust Park, one “lucky” fan chosen for the “Beat The Freeze” race landed on his face and brought stardom to “The Freeze.”

“The Freeze,” dressed in a turquoise body suit and ski goggles, is 26-year-old Nigel Talton -- a member of the Braves’ grounds crew. Talton, of Fort Valley, Ga., was a track athlete at Peach County High School.

Talton, who runs 100 meters in 10.47 seconds and trains with the Kennesaw State track team, gives fans a 200-foot head start before chasing them from one end of the outfield to the other along the warning track.

On Friday, “The Freeze” gained social media stardom, thanks to one fan’s tragic faceplant. Watch:

This isn’t the first time Talton’s speed has embarrassed Braves fans.

During Turner Field’s stolen base challenge -- when fans had to race from the left field corner, grab a base behind second and bring it back within 20 seconds -- Talton finished in under 15 seconds.
