Francoeur ties the knot

Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur weds his fiancee Catie McCoy.

Braves outfielder Jeff Francoeur and fiancee Catie McCoy married Saturday night in a private ceremony. Among the 500 guests on hand: groomsmen Brian McCann and Clint Sammons, two of Francoeur's Braves teammates.

Francoeur has known McCoy since a birthday party in the third grade, but they didn't start dating until their senior year at Parkview High School in Lilburn. She followed his career from school to the minor leagues to Turner Field.

Francoeur and McCoy have participated in many of the Braves' events and activities as a couple, including last year's Atlanta Braves Foundation Turkey Drop.

Francoeur and McCoy pose by the outfield fence at Parkview High School where his No. 12 jersey was retired earlier this year. McCoy is an English teacher in Gwinnett County's Mill Creek High School.
