How the winning run scored: Jason Bourgeois drove in two runs with a two-out single in the bottom of the fourth inning Thursday night. His hit gave Durham a 3-2 lead. After allowing a single and a double to start the inning, Gwinnett starter Cody Martin appeared close to getting out of the inning when he got two strikes on Bourgeois, who drove a 3-2 pitch to center field.

At the plate: Gwinnett leadoff hitter Todd Cunningham was 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored. Alden Carrithers and Tyler Pastornicky each had a double. Mike Fontenot, Shelley Duncan and Bourgeois each had two hits for Durham.

On the mound: Martin (2-2) lasted five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks. He also struck out four.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (45-61) begin a series at Charlotte at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Gwinnett right-hander David Hale (4-5, 3.03 ERA) is scheduled to start against righty Zach Stewart (5-10, 4.91).
