The Braves unconditionally released Sam Freeman Friday.

The move comes one day after the left-hander relief pitcher was outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Freeman had spent the past two seasons with the Braves. He had a 3-5 record with a 4.29 ERA in 63 appearances last season.
