How the winning run scored: Jose Constanza's two-out single in the fourth inning drove home Sean Kazmar and gave Gwinnett a 5-1 lead over Norfolk on Thursday afternoon.

At the plate: The G-Braves outhit the Tides 17-9. Todd Cunningham, Philip Gosselin and Kazmar each had three hits for Gwinnett, and Brandon Boggs, Stefan Gartrell and Ernesto Mejia each had two. Mejia hit two home runs and Gartrell one.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Kameron Loe (4-2) gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings. Loe struck out three and walked one.

Late Wednesday: A rain delay of 1 hour, 16 minutes led to the G-Braves' longest game of the season (3:51), a game in which Gwinnett defeated Norfolk 10-8.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (41-54) open a three-game series at Durham at 7:05 p.m. Friday. The G-Braves are scheduled to start right-hander David Hale (3-4, 3.42 ERA) against righty Merrill Kelly (3-0, 2.03).
