LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez was asked by a media member Saturday who would be the team’s “emergency” third catcher, since Jonny Gomes was gone after having that label a year ago.

Let’s just say emergency catcher is not high on the Braves’ list of priorities right now, if it makes the list at all.

“I haven’t even looked at it, to tell the truth,” Gonzalez replied. “I’ve got bigger (issues). Do you have an emergency left-hander?”

The Braves were down to one left-handed reliever on their spring-training roster after optioning Ian Krol to Triple-A Saturday, the fifth reliever dropped from the camp roster in less than three weeks.

In addition to filling the last two spots in the bullpen, the Braves still are deciding on the final two spots in their starting rotation and their backup outfielders.
