The Atlanta Braves opted to go with pitching once again in the 2016 MLB draft, taking high school pitcher Joey Wentz with the 40th overall pick.

Wentz is a left-handed pitcher at Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas.

Atlanta started its draft early, taking right-hander Ian Anderson with the third overall pick.
