Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson donated a new weight room sound system to his alma mater, Vanderbilt University, and the football team showed its thanks in a Twitter video.

Swanson appreciated the gesture, responding with his own tribute to Vanderbilt and his loyalty to the athletics program there.

Swanson, a Marietta native, was the first overall pick in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft after a stellar career for the Commodores that included being a finalist for the 2015 Golden Spikes Award (nation’s best player), a College World Series Most Outstanding Player award, and the 2014 national title.

In 2017 for the Braves, Swanson is batting .194 with 5 home runs and 21 RBI in 196 at-bats.
