Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said the team will recall rookie pitcher Aaron Blair from Triple-A Gwinnett to start against the Marlins on Saturday.

The Braves sent Blair down after he allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings at the Pirates on May 17. Snitker said at the time that Blair needed to improve his fastball location.

Blair made his big-league debut on April 24 and has posted a 7.59 ERA in five starts with 28 hits, 12 walks and eight strikeouts over 21 1/3 innings. Blair last pitched on May 21 for the G-Braves and allowed four hits and a run over three innings.

The Braves had an open rotation spot after Saturday’s scheduled starter, Casey Kelly, pitched four innings in relief against the Brewers on Wednesday.

Snitker said the team hadn’t decided on a corresponding roster move to make room for Blair.
