Braves-Rangers: Mark Teixeira is back in Texas

First baseman Mark Teixeira was back in Texas Tuesday night for the first time since being being acquired by the Braves last season.

There are still a few Mark Teixeira fans in Texas. On Tuesday, the Braves' first baseman returned to Rangers Ballpark for the first time since being acquired by the Braves from Texas last season.

Teixeira was greeted with a hug from former teammate Hank Blalock. Teixeira spent the first five seasons of his career with the Rangers.

Texas slugger Josh Hamilton greeted Braves starter Tim Hudson with a solo home run in the first inning.

The Rangers roughed up Hudson for six runs on six hits in just over four innings of work.

Members of the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team dropped in on Tuesday's game, much to the delight of Rangers fans Jim Gomer and his son Todd (right).

Meanwhile ... the Mets are an amazin' mess.

Chipper Jones got off to a slow start, including this fly-out to left field in the fourth inning.

Braves manager Bobby Cox expressed his opinion to first base umpire Ed Montague (right front) and second base umpire Jim Wolf about a controversial call in the third inning.

Shortstop Yunel Escobar tried to avoid the Rangers' Ian Kinsler to turn a potential double play.

Teixeira made a play to get Frank Catalanotto in fourth inning.
