PHOENIX — Braves pitching prospect J.R. Graham will have his throwing shoulder checked out by a specialist in Atlanta after receiving no definitive diagnosis from the first doctor who examined him.

The hard-throwing right-hander left a Double-A Mississippi game Monday after feeling soreness while warming up before the third inning. Strength and stability tests done that night were encouraging, but after an examination Tuesday a decision was made to send Graham to Atlanta to be checked by the team orthopedist.
