Braves catching prospect Brett Cumberland was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week and made MLBPipeline.com's Team of the Week for his performance last week for the Class A Rome Braves.

In 10 games from May 22-30, Cumberland batted .432 with 20 RBI, 11 runs scored and 5 home runs, including one that traveled 477 feet at Asheville.

Cumberland was the 76th pick of the 2016 MLB Draft out of the University of California-Berkeley. In a farm system that’s stacked with pitching, his bat could be a good asset for the Braves if he can keep hitting.

MLB.com ranks Cumberland the Braves’ No. 29 prospect and No. 3 catcher in the system.
