How the game was won: Shelby Miller pitched a three-hit shutout with one walk and eight strikeouts in the first complete game of the season for the Braves, and Freddie Freeman hit a two-run homer in the first inning that propelled them toward a 9-0 victory against the Phillies. Kelly Johnson added four RBIs including his team-high sixth homer for the Braves, who've won three of five since a three-game skid.

Number: 1. Times that Shelby Miller has lost in his past 14 starts going back to mid-August. He's 6-1 in that span and his teams are 10-4.

What's next: The Braves and Phillies play the rubber game of their three-game series Wednesday at 7:10 p.m. Highly regarded Braves prospect Mike Foltynewicz (1-0, 3.60 ERA) makes his second start and faces right-hander Jerome Williams (2-1, 4.08).
