Braves left fielder Matt Kemp left the game Friday against the Pirates on Friday because of what the team said was tightness in his right hamstring.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said Kemp is day-to-day.

Chase d’Arnaud replaced Kemp as a pinch runner after Kemp singled in the sixth inning. Kemp appeared to be walking with a limp after he made a diving catch of Josh Harrison’s fly ball in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Snitker said the injury probably was a result of the cold weather and Kemp’s busy day in the outfield. Snitker said Kemp told him he was OK to hit in the sixth but didn’t want to run the bases.

“It was tightening up,” Snitker said during his televised news conference on Fox Sports South. “He’s been through the wars enough to know (his body). I’m glad he said something.”

Kemp had two singles against the Pirates and is 8-for-16 in four games this season. He had four doubles and two home runs in the three-game series against the Mets.
