2. Nick Swisher played first base and had two hits, including a double. That boosted his average to .222.

3. Infielder Gordon Beckham continues to struggle at the plate, going 0-for-3. His average dropped to .143.

4. Catcher A.J. Pierzynski had a rough night, going 0-for-3 with a strikeout, stranding three on base, and making an error.

5. Jace Peterson played third base and had an error. Offensively, he had a triple but that only brought his average up to .158.

6. Lefty reliever Alex Torres fanned two in an inning.
