A recap of the Braves’ victory over the Miami Marlins on Saturday at Marlins Park.

How the game was won: Jace Peterson’s first career home run was a grand slam that sent the Braves on their way to a 5-3 victory. Peterson drove Mat Latos’ low breaking ball into the right-field seats in the second inning to stake starter Alex Wood to a 5-0 lead. Wood allowed two runs (one earned) over seven innings.

Number: 6. Hits in two games for Todd Cunningham since he was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett. Cunningham was 3-for-4 Saturday after going 3-for-4 with the go-ahead RBI in the eighth inning of Friday’s victory.

Next: The Braves play the Marlins at 1:10 p.m. Sunday on SportsSouth. Shelby Miller (4-1, 1.60 ERA) faces Henderson Alvarez (0-2, 4.50).
