Braves lefty O’Flaherty begins rehab assignment

Braves left-hander Eric O’Flaherty began his rehabilitation assignment on Saturday with an appearance for the team’s Gulf Coast League affiliate.

O’Flaherty has been on the 15-day disabled list since June 13 with a right knee strain. In one inning for the GCL Braves O’Flaherty threw 18 pitches (13 strikes) while allowing two hits and a run with two strikeouts.

O’Flaherty has made 27 appearances out of the bullpen for the Braves this season with a 6.52 ERA over 19 1/3 innings.
