How the winning run scored: With one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Sean Kazmar's one-out single drove home Stefan Gartrell and gave the Gwinnett Braves a 4-0 lead Friday night against visiting Indianapolis.

At the plate: Philip Gosselin was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Gwinnett, and Ernesto Mejia hit his 25th home run of the season, a second-inning solo shot off Indians starter Stolmy Pimentel.

On the mound: Gwinnett starter Brandon Beachy made an injury-rehab start for the Atlanta Braves. He pitched five innings and allowed one run. He struck out three and walked one. Of the 70 pitches he threw, 46 were for strikes. All five hits were singles.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (43-57) and the Indians (61-40) meet again at 7:05 p.m. Saturday in a game scheduled for a CSS telecast. Gwinnett right-hander David Hale (3-5, 3.28 ERA) is scheduled to face righty Brandon Cumpton (4-5, 3.53) at Coolray Field.
