The Charlotte Knights sent 10 batters to the plate in a key four-run fifth inning on their way to a 7-6 victory against visiting Gwinnett on Friday night.

Former Atlanta Brave Brent Lillibridge drove home the first run of the inning with a double and later scored. On the night, Lillibridge was 2-for-4, and former Atlanta Brave Wilson Betemit was 2-for-3.

Gwinnett's attempt at a rally in the ninth fell a run short. They scored two in the inning and left two men on, with the go-ahead run on first.

Kelly Johnson was 2-for-5 with a double, a strikeout and two runs scored as his minor-league rehab assignment continues.

G-Braves starter Jonny Venters lasted 4-2/3 innings and gave up five earned runs. He gave up nine hits and walked three to go with six strikeouts.
