The Braves’ Sunday game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field was postponed due to inclement weather and will be made up as a stand-alone game May 14 at 1:20 p.m.

The announcement came just before 10:30 a.m. Central Time, nearly three hours before the scheduled first pitch. The temperature was 38 degrees and steady rain in the morning was expected to turn to snow later in the day.

The teams played in similarly cold, rainy and windy weather Saturday in what that managers for both teams called the worst conditions they had seen for a major league game. The conditions were so bad that Braves players called it “ridiculous” and manager Brian Snitker said it was dangerous to play in.

The Braves will make up Sunday’s game May 14 after a scheduled six-game trip to Tampa Bay and Miami May 8-13. They’ll fly to Chicago from Miami and play one game against the Cubs on what had been a scheduled day off.

Julio Teheran, who had been scheduled to start Sunday’s game for the Braves, will instead pitch Monday in a home series opener against the Phillies at SunTrust Park.
