How the winning run scored: With two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning Friday night, Matt Pagnozzi's two-run single gave Gwinnett a 6-2 lead over visiting Syracuse at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

At the plate: Gwinnett's Joey Terdoslavich was 4-for-4 and scored three runs. He had a double in the third and a run-scoring single in the first. Teammate Alden Carrithers was 3-for-4, and Ernesto Mejia was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Two of the RBIs came on a home run in the fifth.

On the mound: G-Braves starter Joe Bisenius (1-0) lasted 5 2/3 innings in his Gwinnett debut. He allowed four runs on eight hits, while striking out six and walking two.

Up next for Gwinnett: The G-Braves (32-44) and Chiefs (28-44) meet for the second game of their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Gwinnett plans to start right-hander Omar Poveda (5-4, 3.08 ERA) against righty Ryan Tatusko (1-2, 3.08). The game is scheduled for a telecast on CSS.
