The Braves promoted right-hander Madison Younginer from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday and designated infielder Brandon Snyder for assignment.
Younginer has yet to pitch in the majors. He’s made 42 relief appearances this season between Double-A Mississippi and Gwinnett while posting a 3.46 ERA with 54 strikeouts and 19 walks in 52 innings. Younginer began his career as a starter in the Red Sox organization after they selected him in the seventh round of the 2009 draft out of Mauldin (S.C.) High.
Snyder joined the Braves on June 2 after being out of the majors since 2013. He hit .182 with a .206 on-base percentage and two home runs in 24 games while mostly being used as a pinch hitter.
