How the game was won: A.J. Pierzynski gave the Braves the lead with a solo homer in the second inning, then put them ahead to stay with an RBI single in the third during a 4-3 win against the Brewers. The fifth win in six games for the Braves got them within four games of first-place Washington in the NL East. Manny Banuelos won his first decision in his second major league start, allowing five hits and one run in 5 1/3 innings, with three walks and one strikeout.

Number: 0.82. Banuelos' ERA after the rookie left-hander's first two major league starts.

What's next: The Braves and Brewers play their series finale at 2:10 p.m. (Eastern), with Julio Teheran (6-4, 4.60 ERA) facing Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers (4-7, 3.83).
