A swarm of bees overtook the field sending players, umpires and coaches ducking for cover during a Cactus League spring training game Thursday in Peoria, Ariz.

In the top of the 9th inning between the Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres, a massive swarm (visible to TV cameras) sent players down to the dirt as it moved from behind home plate.

The scene looked “like a nuclear bomb drill,” the announcer gasped.

The Padres will be in Atlanta Friday, April 14, to  open the Braves' SunTrust Park.
