Atlanta United is working to complete several transfers in and out, according to a person with knowledge of signings.

The team is working still to sign centerback Stian Gregersen, a 28-year-old who plays for Bordeaux in France’s Ligue 2, and defensive midfielder Dax McCarty, a free agent formerly of Nashville.

Gregersen is considered a replacement for Miles Robinson, who signed as a free agent with Cincinnati. McCarty, a 36-year-old who has made 496 appearances in MLS regular-season and playoff games, is seen as a leader and rotational player in the mold of past Five Stripes players Jeff Larentowicz and Ozzie Alonso.

Additionally, the club is working to complete loans for Santiago Sosa to Racing Club and Franco Ibarra to Rosario Central. Both clubs are in Argentina. Sosa and Ibarra were Under-22 Initiative signings made by Atlanta United. Ibarra made 60 appearances for Atlanta United. He was loaned to Toronto at midseason in 2023. Sosa made 63 appearances.

The club has signed centerback Derrick Williams, whom they selected in the reentry draft. He is seen as a depth piece.
