Atlanta United signed Oliver Shannon, who was selected in the second round of January's SuperDraft, on Wednesday.

Shannon spent 13 years in Everton’s academy before enrolling at Clemson, where we was an all-conference performer, scoring 13 goals and notching 17 assists in 82 appearances.

Shannon, a defensive midfielder, has come on as a sub in Atlanta United’s first two preseason games.

The team will play Minnesota United on Wednesday in Charleston.

Jon Gallagher and Gordon Wild, Atlanta United’s other two selections in the SuperDraft,  already signed contracts with MLS. Paul Christensen, selected in the fourth round, signed with Atlanta United 2.
