Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez and Miguel Almiron are two of of numerous players included on the MLS awards ballot for MVP.

Martinez holds the league’s single-scoring record with 30 goals this season. Almiron has 12 goals and 14 assists in helping Atlanta United lead the race for the Supporters’ Shield with two games remaining.

Voting by players, media and technical staff will start Oct. 15. Finalists will be announced Oct. 31.

Additionally, Michael Parkhurst and Leandro Gonzalez Pirez are on the initial ballot for the defender of the year, Brad Guzan is on for goalkeeper of the year as well as humanitarian of the year, and Ezequiel Barco is on for newcomer of the year. Gerardo Martino is on for coach of the year.
