Vice president of the NAACP's Atlanta chapter Gerald Griggs announced the Atlanta chapter will boycott all things related to the NFL until free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick is signed by a team.
Atlanta's NAACP chapter called for all football fans to boycott the NFL until Kaepernick is given a job.
"There will be no football in the state of Georgia if Colin Kaepernick is not on a training camp roster and given an opportunity to pursue his career," Griggs said, according to CBS Sports. "This is not a simple request. This is a statement. This is a demand."
The Atlanta chapter of the NAACP also announced they will hold a rally on Sept. 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium— the day of the Falcons' regular season opener against the Green Bay Packers.
Griggs said that his group will also demonstrate outside NFL headquarters in New York on Sept. 17, according to CBS Sports.
Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers in March after his season-long protest of kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem to call attention to police brutality spread throughout the League.
