Falcons sign tryout linebacker Andre Smith

FLOWERY BRANCH — Linebacker Andre Smith, who was in for a tryout during the rookie minicamp, signed with the Falcons on Sunday, according to his agents at Day 1 Sports and Entertainment.

Smith, who’s 6-foot and 240 pounds, has spent time with the Panthers (2018-19), Bills (2020-22) and Titans (2022).

In addition to Smith, wide receiver Slade Bolden (Alabama), defensive back Natrone Brooks (Southern Mississippi) and defensive back Clifford Chattman (Texas-San Antonio) were signed, according to the Falcons on Monday. Quarterback Austin Aune was signed, the team announced Tuesday.

Safety Lukas Denis, defensive tackle LaCale London and tackle Barry Wesley, who played in the XFL, were also signed by the Falcons, according to the XFL. The team announce the signings Tuesday.

The Falcons also released linebacker David Anenih (Houston), running back B.J. Baylor (Oregon State), cornerback Javelin Guidry (Utah), cornerback Matt Hankins (Iowa), wide receiver Ra’Shaun Henry (Virginia), cornerback Dylan Mabin (Fordham) and tight end/fullback John Raine (Northwestern). Baylor was designated as waived/injured. The Falcons also released Ifedi on Tuesday.

The Falcons roster is now at 90.
