FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons outside linebacker Dante Fowler, who has a knee injury, returned to practice Wednesday.
Coach Arthur Smith said Wednesday morning that Fowler would return, but he added: “It doesn’t mean he’s going to necessarily play (Sunday), but he can practice.”
Outside linebacker Steven Means (knee) and defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard (concussion) were limited in practice. Tight end Lee Smith (back) and cornerback Kendall Sheffield (hamstring) did not practice.
Fowler was placed on injured reserve Oct. 22 after he was injured in the game against the Jets in London on Oct. 10.
Fowler has started five games and made 12 tackles (seven solo), two sacks and has had three quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, two tackles for losses and one pass defensed.
Rookie Ade Ogundeji has started in Fowler’s spot.
Smith noted that Fowler may not be ready to play Sunday at the Cowboys, but the Falcons are starting his 21-day window to return to action.
