Quarterback Matt Ryan, defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, linebacker Deion Jones, left tackle Jake Matthews and wide receiver Calvin Ridley were selected as the Falcons’ captains for the 2021 season.

The group will also be joined by one additional captain on a game-by-game basis.

During the morning team meeting, the players voted on their captains.

“We voted on them this morning,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “I’m going to let the players do it. You vote and then the head coach then decides who he wants.”
