Pitcher Spencer Strider was named National League Rookie of the Month for July, the second Braves rookie to be honored by the NL in as many months.

Strider was 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA in five starts last month. The 23-year-old had 41 strikeouts with only nine walks en route to earning the honor one month after outfielder Michael Harris was named NL Rookie of the Month for June.

Heading into Tuesday’s start against the Phillies, Strider was 5-3 this season with a 2.91 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 80 ⅓ innings.
