The Braves added pitching depth Monday by signing veteran reliever Kirby Yates to a two-year contract.

The 34-year-old righthander had 41 saves during his All-Star season with the Padres in 2019. Yates spent last season with Toronto, but did not pitch after undergoing Tommy John surgery in March.

Yates has also played for the Yankees, Dodgers and Tampa Bay during his seven-year major league career.
