Rugby ATL came up short in a 22-19 loss to Rugby New York Sunday in Major League Rugby.

Rugby ATL (2-1) fell behind 19-7 at halftime but the late rally earned a losing bonus point for trailing by 7 or less at the conclusion.

Zander van Schalkwyk had two tries and Johan Momsen another for ATL Rugby.

“RUNY were deserved winners controlling territory and converting their opportunities. We were lucky to come away with a bonus point in the end against a star-studded team,” ATL Rugby general manager and head coach Scott Lawrence said.

Rugby ATL will host the Toronto Arrows on Sunday.
